Mudbutton Torchrunner

"Greetings uplander! My name is Mudbutton Torchrunner, but friends call me Mud."

Mud has no memory of his Lalafell parents. All he remembers is living life in a gobclan near Idyllshire with two male gobs who had decided to take him in out of pity. He never really fit in, but his parents cared for him and raised him up learning the ways of gobkind. Once he became a young adult, it was all too obvious to him that he didn't belong. Experiencing a sense of longing he decided to leave and try his best to learn about the world, his parents giving him their blessing.

Learning to speak like the uplanders was the first challenge, but like his parents had taught him he tackled challenges with goblin ingenuity and tenacity. After about three years he longed for home and returned to the clan - to find that they had been wiped out - killed presumably by a group of Illuminati goblins.

Outraged and lost he fled back to Idyllshire, eventually just drifting and wandering until he found his way to Ishgard. There, the darkness and anger inside him was eventually channeled into power by the mysterious Fray. Learning the ways of the Dark Knight gave him the opportunity to turn his pain into power.

He is currently still struggling with the idea of trying to find the Illuminati members responsible for the death of those who raised him.

"Hopefully you like cider and other sweet-smells. Then uplander and Mud can really get along!"

Despite the struggles of his past and the death of his clan, Mud does his best to keep a smile on his face and to lift up the people around him. He is a bit timid at first, but can be a bit of an obnoxious and mischevious friend once you get to know him.

Living his entire life wearing a full gobcap filled with a bouquet of different aromas, he is extremely sensitive to the smells around him. His favorite foods and drinks are those with the strongest aroma, with apple cider being a personal favorite.

Although he has removed its mask, you will rarely see him without his prized gobcap on. He is very sensitive about the cap but is happy to tell people his tale when they ask him about it.

"Mud is always happy to have new companions! Just say 'hello'!"
